At Steamworks, at least. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to post, but Richard Stone has been doing a commendable job in keeping the Blog up-to-date with activities down at Blyth Road. We’ve also been ferociously planning away for a new event for us- a bijou ‘Santa Special’ for the BVLR. This will involve a trip on the miniature railway to visit Father Christmas (for it is he) in his Grotto, which by a curious circumstance not entirely clear to us (it’s probably magic, to be perfectly honest) happens to be on the route of the BVLR.

We’ll have a suitably festive decorated site for what we hope will be an atmospheric evening event- the children riding the train will each receive a gift from Father Christmas, and both children and adults alike will receive suitably festive refreshments in the Café, both included in the ticket price. There will also be a (free!) craft table in the loco shed where the children (and possibly even the grown-ups?) can make their own Christmas cards to take home with them.

The event will run from 15:30 until 19:00, with rides to the grotto throughout that time. Prebooking is essential, as we will give a time slot for the train ride and Santa visit, although booked guests may of course turn up and enjoy the other attractions at any time prior to (or indeed after!) their booked time. To book, please ring the Steamworks office on 01502 725422. Spaces are limited, so if you’d like to come, be sure not to tarry!

We look forward to seeing you there..

Oliver

Christmas is coming..
