Recent weeks, with their fine but chilly weather, have seen the volunteers working on the level crossing providing gates across the 3ft gauge track where vehicles enter the car park at Steamworks. The post hole borer attachment on our ferguson tractor has been put to good use producing the holes into which old mainline sleepers have been set. New gates have been hung and have now started to be finished off having had a coat of primer applied at the weekend.

As we admired our work we realised we were under supervision from a robin, as he was seen again at the weekend I assume we passed!
