With the day we can steam Blyth for visitors to Steamworks approaching we are keen to provide a means to give guests a ride behind her. The carriage replica planned as part of the Heritage Train Project would be overkill for our current 80 yard “mainline” so we are aiming to build a shorter vehicle which has the look of the original coaches and that all-important balcony. This vehicle will be constructed such that a wheel chair can be accommodated in the saloon.
We have successfully secured a grant towards part of the cost from the Southwold Trust but are seeking further donations to enable us to make this a reality.
