Manx railway stock arrival!

The Southwold Railway Trust has taken delivery of two historic items of rolling stock from the Isle of Man – Manx Northern Railway Coach number 3 built in 1879 and the frames of steam locomotive No.7 Tynwald built in 1880.

Well, here it is at last! Our first piece of 3′ gauge rolling stock all the way from Donegal!

The tram carriage completed its journey from Ireland and arrived at Duncan’s yard late on Monday afternoon 18th October. Driver Frank Gillespie expertly reversed the low-loader past gate posts and parked cars with inches to spare, [...]
